This program provides funding for shelter and transitional housing and other assistance to victims of domestic violence and their companion animals, including pets, service animals, emotional support animals, and horses.
Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness (HMEP) is sponsored by Department of Transportation. PHMSA’s goal is to ensure that responders trained under the grant can protect nearby persons, property, and the environment from the effects of accidents or incidents involving HAZMAT transportation. PHMSA’s goal for planning activities is to develop, improve, and carry out emergency plans under the Emergency Planning and Community Right-To-Know Act of 1986 (42 U.S.C. § 11001 et seq.), including ascertaining flow patterns of hazardous material on land.
