7 AirShare Systems, Inc. proposes an innovative, non-lethal kinetic counter-sUAS solution designed to protect military and civilian infrastructure against the growing threat of small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS). The OVERWATCH® neutralizes Group 1–3 drones, including autonomous swarms, using patented, aerodynamically engineered airfoils that entangle and disrupt drone propulsion without the use of RF jamming or explosives.
This capability has been demonstrated in over 1,000 live tests ensuring safety in sensitive environments while achieving 95% effectiveness. AirShare’s OVERWATCH® system has been tested at multiple international and the US DoD sites, including Eglin AFB, Dyess AFB, Fort Bragg, and Fort AP Hill, where it successfully intercepted and neutralized multiple drone threats without collateral damage.
These successful demonstrations validate the system’s feasibility for deployment to frontline Security Forces Squadrons across the DAF enterprise, directly supporting Air Force asset protection.
The proposed Phase II effort will focus on adapting AirShare’s commercial solution to meet DAF mission needs, integrating OVERWATCH® with key security force command and control systems and validating its performance in live operational environments. R&D objectives include improving the system’s performance, safety and range, through clear quantitative indicators.
This work will be conducted in partnership with Westover Air Reserve Base and Hanscom Air Force Base. Westover will serve as a test site for field evaluations and operational coordination. Hanscom AFB, through its Program Executive Office (PEO) for Electronic Systems, is engaged in evaluating base defense technologies and facilitating industry-government collaboration to address sUAS threats.
Both locations will provide structured environments for testing and feedback to inform future acquisition decisions.
