PA Grid Resilience Grant

PA Grid Resilience Grant is a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) that funds projects implementing resilience measures to mitigate the impact of electric grid disruptive events across Pennsylvania. Funded through a federal formula grant from the U.S. Department of Energy under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), Section 40101D, awards can reach up to $8,000,000.

Eligible applicants include utilities and organizations involved in electric grid infrastructure. A 100% match is required for larger utilities; small utilities selling 4,000,000 MWh or fewer annually need only a one-third match. Future funding rounds will be announced on the Pennsylvania DEP website.

PA GRG Round 2 Guidance Document Concept Paper Application and Instructions Full Application and Instructions (DOCX) Detailed Budget - PA GRG (XLSX) An eligible entity that receives a grant award under the Program is required to match a minimum of 100 percent of the award amount if they are not considered a “Small Utility”, selling not more than 4,000,000 megawatt hours of electricity per year.
