The Pharmacology Research Grants from the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) and the Veterinary Pharmacology Research Foundation (VPRF) fund research focused on veterinary pharmacology and pharmacokinetics. Two grants are available: a veterinary pharmacology grant for up to $30,000 and a veterinary pharmacokinetic grant for up to $15,000. Funded research areas include evaluating safety and effectiveness of novel or existing drug therapies for veterinary species, developing and validating pharmacokinetic models, and ensuring the safety of food products from treated livestock. These areas have historically been underfunded by traditional granting agencies. Any clinician or scientist with an interest in veterinary pharmacology is eligible to serve as Principal Investigator.
