Grant Process and Application | The Parmenter Foundation The Parmenter Foundation is dedicated to supporting non profit organizations that provide high-quality, innovative hospice and palliative care as well as family bereavement programs serving MetroWest children, adults and caregivers.
We exclusively fund high quality programs that have meaningful impact for our neighbors who are navigating the challenging end-of-life and/or grieving process. Grant applications are due by October 1. Grant applicants will be notified of their grant status in December and grant funding is awarded in January.

Grant awards mailed & grants announced Grant Committee Recommendations Presented to Board of Trustees Board of Trustees vote on Grant Applications and Applicants Notified January 15 (following year) Leading the grant funding initiatives, The Parmenter Foundation has a designated Grant Committee comprised of trustees, staff, volunteers and the executive director.
The Grant Committee reviews and vets every grant application and in doing so, may pursue a process of discovery and due diligence which may include: reviewing publicly available information; meeting with the program founders and/or directors; attending program events; requesting further information as appropriate.
The Grant Committee meets regularly throughout the year and is responsible for establishing overall strategy and making recommendations to the full Board of Trustees. In turn, the Board votes on all grant proposals during its December meetings. For all grant submissions, it is within the sole discretion of the Board to approve, in whole or in part, deny, or request further information.
We provide support for compassionate end-of-life care and bereavement programs in MetroWest, Massachusetts. We award grant funding and develop inspirational educational events, programs and resources to help our neighbors navigate the end-of-life and grief process. The UGrieve program is building compassionate campuses to support higher education students who have experienced a loss.
We offer hope and assistance to community members who are grieving or in need of compassionate end-of-life care. Inspiring and educational events hosted by The Parmenter Foundation. Videos, guides, support groups, and more to help our community members navigate challenging grief and end-of-life journeys.
