The Pasco L. Schiavo Legacy Grant is a competitive grant opportunity designed to support transformational projects that strengthen the quality of life for residents of the Greater Hazleton and Weatherly communities. Through this $25,000 grant award, the Pasco L.

Schiavo Legacy Fund of the Luzerne Foundation seeks to invest in nonprofit organizations whose programs and initiatives create meaningful, lasting impact and address important community needs. Organizations are encouraged to propose innovative or expanded efforts that demonstrate strong community benefit, measurable outcomes, and long-term sustainability.

Schiavo, a revered attorney, educator, author, real estate investor, and philanthropist from Hazleton, Pennsylvania. Through immersive storytelling and intimate interviews, this thoughtfully crafted film brings to life the lasting impact of Schiavo’s generosity.

Featuring voices from The Luzerne Foundation, the stewards of his estate, to community leaders and scholarship recipients benefiting from his charitable contributions, “PASCO” showcases how one man’s dedication to service continues to shape lives in real time. “PASCO” is more than a tribute—it is a testament to the power of giving and the enduring influence of a life spent in service to others. — Directed By: Jimmy T.

Schiavo Fund of The Luzerne Foundation was formed for the purpose of making grant distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations, specifically to promote primarily educational projects and other humanitarian projects in and throughout the Greater Hazleton community which is presently demarcated by the school district borders of the Hazleton Area School District and the Weatherly Area School District. 2026 Pasco L.

Schiavo Microgrants The Luzerne Foundation is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for nonprofits serving the greater Hazleton and Weatherly areas to apply for microgrants from the Pasco L. Schiavo Fund of The Luzerne Foundation . These grants, ranging from $500 to $3,000, are designed to support organizations working on projects that directly benefit the local community.

Eligibility Requirements: Must be a nonprofit organization serving the greater Hazleton and Weatherly areas (demarcated by the school district borders of the Hazleton Area School District and the Weatherly Area School District) Projects or programs must align with the mission of the Pasco L. Schiavo Memorial Fund to benefit and enhance the well-being of the community.

Microgrants of $500 to $3,000 will be awarded quarterly based on the scope and impact of the proposed project. This is a rolling application process, and funding decisions may be made throughout the year. To be considered for 2026 funding, all final applications must be submitted by November 2.
