Pittsburgh Emergency Medicine Foundation – Supporting Research and Promoting Education in Emergency Medicine and EMS EMS Case Report Grant Progream The Pittsburgh Emergency Medicine Foundation is dedicated to advancing emergency medical care by supporting early‑stage research and education.
Through this case report program, the Board hopes to empower EMTs, paramedics, flight nurses, and other prehospital clinicians to take their first steps into research—building a pipeline of future investigators who will continue Pittsburgh’s legacy of leadership in emergency medicine.
The Pittsburgh Emergency Medicine Foundation depends on the generosity of individuals in the community, like you, to support the efforts of the foundation. Making Financial Donations: The Pittsburgh Emergency Medicine Foundation is happy to accept financial donations. All Financial Donations assist our foundation in covering overhead costs, funding grant requests, and assisting in expanding our services.
PEMF is a 501(c)(3) and your donation is tax deductible. The Pittsburgh Emergency Medicine Foundation is an autonomous charitable foundation formed to foster the academic and research programs of the University of Pittsburgh Affiliated Residency in Emergency Medicine and the Center for Emergency Medicine of Western Pennsylvania. The Foundation is chartered under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The Pittsburgh Emergency Medicine Foundation (PEMF) was created in 1985 to fund educational and research projects, primarily initiated by The Center for Emergency Medicine. In the nearly thirty years of existence, more than 175 research grants have been presented to dozens of researchers by the PEMF. These grants have resulted in over 75 published scientific papers, many receiving prestigious national awards.
Research that can trace its origins to PEMF grants is leading to significant changes in the practice of emergency medicine. We welcome you to join us in this important mission! Throughout the year, there are many opportunities to get involved with the PEMF.
