Online submission deadline: Performance Incentive Grant Fund (PIGF) One-Pager The funding available through this grant program comes from savings resulting from reforms under Maryland's Justice Reinvestment Act (JRA).
JRA reforms are focused on safely reducing Maryland’s prison population by incorporating more evidence-based programming to improve reentry outcomes, reduce impacts of incarceration on communities, provide more resources to victims of crime, and connect nonviolent offenders with behavioral health needs to community treatment and support.
Outcomes of PIGF funded programs will be monitored by the Justice Reinvestment Oversight Board and performance measures will be set by the Local Government Justice Reinvestment Commission. The Justice Reinvestment Act is a data-driven approach to improving public safety, reducing corrections spending, and reinvesting savings in evidence-based strategies to reduce crime and recidivism.
