This program aims to foster a robust global learning environment at UC Davis by inviting faculty to develop or enhance global components in their courses, thereby enriching the academic experience and equipping students with essential global competencies.

## Peter and Marion London Global Learning Expansion Grant Program The Peter and Marion London Global Learning Expansion Grant Program aims to foster a robust global learning environment at UC Davis. This initiative invites faculty to apply for funding to develop or enhance global components in their courses, thus enriching the academic experience and equipping students with essential global competencies.

Faculty will be invited to apply for funding after completing the Teaching for Global Learning Program offered through Global Affairs, and they will be asked to demonstrate how their proposed work aligns with the UC Davis Global Learning Outcomes.

Awards of up to $3,000 can support activities such as developing coursework that includes online intercultural exchange, engaging students with global issues through local engagement, that recognize and include campus global diversity and cultural wealth. By supporting faculty in their efforts to create impactful, globally-focused courses, the grant aims to prepare students for success in an increasingly interconnected world.

### _**Call for Proposals for Spring 2026**_ Academic Senate and Academic Federation faculty are invited to apply for funding**after**completing the Global Affairs Teaching for Global Learning Program. Faculty will be asked to demonstrate how their proposed work aligns with the UC Davis Global Learning Outcomes.

### _**Grant Objectives: The grant will support faculty to:**_ * Develop coursework that includes on-line intercultural exchange and may include short-term travel elements. * Develop coursework that actively engages students with global issues through local engagement (for example via learning with diasporic communities).

* Develop coursework that intentionally incorporates and leverages campus global diversity and cultural wealth to facilitate global learning. ### _**Funding Structure**_ * **Total Available Funds:**$12,000 annually, 4 awards total.

### _**Application Timeline**_ * **Application Period**: May 1 - June 30, starting in 2026 * **Review Period**: Late July 2026 * **Recipient Announcement**: Early August 2026 Funds must be expended by June 30, 2027. ### _**Application Requirements**_ Applicants must provide a comprehensive set of materials that demonstrate the alignment of their course with UC Davis Global Learning Outcomesand the objectives of the grant.

The required components include: 1. **Course Description**: A concise description of the course, detailing its format and educational experiences (300 words). 2.

**Integration of GLOs**: In what ways are you enhancing your course to deepen students' global learning? And how does your course specifically incorporate intercultural learning and support global awareness, diversity, and action? (300 words) 1.

Summary of course assignments and expected workload (200 words), and 2. Faculty should also submit at least 2 fully developed assignments that demonstrate how the assignment addresses the grant’s objectives. 4.

**Grading Criteria**: Outline of grading structure, emphasizing assessment methods (100 words). 5. **Instructor Bio**: Brief bio of the instructor, including relevant experience (200 words).

6. **Budget**: In an itemized list, please describe how the funds will be used. ### _**Criteria for Selection**_ Proposals will be assessed based on: * **Alignment with Global Learning Outcomes and the Grant’s Objectives**: How well the proposal incorporates the UC Davis Global Learning Outcomes and the objectives of the grant.

* **Innovation and Engagement**: The potential for the course to actively engage students with global issues and diverse perspectives within and/or beyond the classroom. * **Feasibility and Impact**: Practicality of implementation and anticipated impact on student learning. ### _**Submission Process**_ **Submit your proposal (Kerberos ID required)** _**The submission portal will open by May 1, 2026 and will close on June 30, 2026.

**_ Grant recipients will be expected to submit a final report, including a budget, at the end of the award period.

The final report form includes information about the course’s accomplishments and future plans (e.g. student outcomes; examples of student assessments; dissemination of the course’s outcomes and impact within departments and programs through mechanisms such as workshops for fellow faculty, publications, or manuscripts developed, etc.).
