Undergraduate Scholarships | Oklahoma Energy Resources Board Undergraduate scholarship and application. Each year, we award up to $550,000 to students majoring in petroleum-related fields at The University of Oklahoma (OU), The University of Tulsa (TU) and Oklahoma State University (OSU). Each OERB Petroleum Scholar has the opportunity to receive up to $22,500 in scholarships throughout their college career.
Amounts for Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience, GeoEnergy Engineering and Energy Management majors are as follows: In addition to financial assistance, Petroleum Scholars receive exclusive opportunities to engage with the industry. Scholars are notified of events across the state, with registration fees covered by the OERB , providing valuable opportunities to network and learn from oil and natural gas professionals.

m. Undergraduate Scholarship Application Undergraduate Scholarship Criteria To be eligible, students must: Meet and maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.
75 (on a 4-point scale) Be enrolled full-time in one of the following undergraduate petroleum-related programs: Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience, GeoEnergy Engineering, or Energy Management Attend The University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, or The University of Tulsa Declare in writing a petroleum-related field as their primary area of study Understand and support the mission of the OERB Serve as an industry ambassador on- and off-campus Additional Opportunities to Strengthen Your Application Potential scholars are encouraged to: Participate in oil and natural gas student organizations on campus Serve in leadership roles in oil and natural gas student organizations – particularly during junior and senior years Become a Petro Pro Volunteer and connect with students across Oklahoma through virtual classroom Q&A sessions!
Volunteer at OERB Community STEM Nights or other outreach events Participate in energy education or industry programs Seek opportunities to educate others about this important and exciting industry Complete the Energy Literacy Program Pursue internship(s) with an Oklahoma oil and natural gas company – particularly during junior and senior years. Make sure to show us what you are doing!
Take photos of your involvement to include with your application. Program budget limitation. It is understood that the scholarships offered and subsequent program development are subject to the OERB’s annual student education budget and any modifications thereof.
