Eligibility - Pfaffinger Foundation We support nonprofit organizations in Los Angeles that provide case management services and enhance self-sufficiency. Pfaffinger Foundation awards general operating support grants to local nonprofits that enhance self-sufficiency by providing case management, job training, financial education and safety net services as well as programs serving older adults.

What qualifies as Case Management? We look for organizations that prioritize case management to engage community members, develop relationships, deliver services, problem solve and connect people with resources that will enhance their safety, wellbeing and quality of life. Case managers are trained in human behavior, mental health, social equity, and laws and ethics.
What kind of services benefit the Foundation's Individual Grants Program? What kind of services benefit the Foundation's Individual Grants Program? Pfaffinger Foundation assists employees and retirees of the former Times Mirror companies with individual grants and case management services.
We may connect these clients to programs that provide job training, housing resources, financial education and credit counseling and food assistance. The Foundation also serves many older adults. Our case managers understand the needs of older adults with limited resources who benefit from resources such as medical assistance, caregiving services, affordable senior housing, food assistance and social and recreational activities.
Who are our current Family Self-Sufficiency Partners? Who are our current Family Self-Sufficiency Partners? The Foundation created the Family Self-Sufficiency Initiative in 2001.
We partner with select nonprofits to assist low income working families to overcome hardships and be more self-sufficient. We collaborate with case managers at our partner agencies who understand the strengths and needs of the families they serve to make grants to assist with essential needs such as rent, utilities, and transportation.
Our current partner agencies include Little Tokyo Service Center, Para los Ninos, Helpline Youth Counseling and Homeboy Industries.
