PhysTEC Mini Capacity Building Grant Program is sponsored by PhysTEC. Provides short-term funding to PhysTEC member institutions to develop, expand, or pilot initiatives that strengthen local K–12 physics teacher communities and build connections between K–12 schools and universities.

By bringing K–12 perspectives into higher education environments, the program supports stronger pathways for preparing future physics teachers. Grant awards will range from $2,500–$5,000 and are intended to support short-term projects, pilot programs, and capacity-building activities that align with the goals of the program.

Institutions may use grant funding to support activities such as, but not limited to: Building partnerships between university faculty and local K–12 teachers Developing professional learning communities Piloting teacher recruitment or support initiatives Hosting workshops, networking events, or collaborative programming Creating sustainable structures for ongoing K–12 and university engagement Grant funds may be used for, but are not limited to: Stipends for faculty, mentor teachers, or coordinators Workshop or event costs, including materials, space, and refreshments Evaluation and data collection efforts Modest student support, such as learning assistants or ambassadors Application Deadline: August 31 Funding Begins: October 1 Applications can be submitted using the following form: https://forms.
