5 million in one-time grant funding to support local nonprofit organizations with a focus on the prevention and/or support of survivors of domestic violence and/or human trafficking.

The purpose of the 2024 Placer County Domestic Violence / Human Trafficking Prevention Nonprofit Assistance Grant Program is to provide grant funds to support local nonprofit organizations with a focus on the prevention and/or support of survivors of domestic violence and/or human trafficking. Preference is given to organizations that experienced impacts due to the pandemic. There is no match requirement for this grant opportunity.

All of the below criteria must be met in order to be considered for this grant. Applicants must be California nonprofit organizations that are described under Section501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (IRC) and exempt from tax under Section501(a) of such code.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) does not require certain organizations such as churches, mosques, and synagogues to apply for and receive recognition of exemption under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRC. Such organizations are automatically exempt if they meet the requirements of Section 501(c)(3). Applicants must directly serve residents of Placer County, with entities based in Placer County receiving preference.

Applicants must be a nonprofit organization with a focus on the prevention of domestic violence and/or human trafficking and/or the provision of services for survivors of domestic violence and/or human trafficking including but not limited to emergency and permanent housing, food and clothing, counseling, employment training and assistance, or other supportive services.

Anticipated Grant Timeline: Application Submission Period: November 1, 2024 – November 30, 2024 The application must be received electronically, by 11:59pm (PST), Sunday, November 30,2024 to [email protected] . Applications received after this time/date will not be eligible.

Applicant Review Period: December 1, 2024 – December 31, 2024 Award Announcement: Late January 2025 Recommendations for awards will be brought to the Board of Supervisors for consideration at a January 2025 meeting. All applicants will be notified via email of the final award decision. Funding Released: February 2025 Awardee Mid-Year Report: July 30, 2025 Expenditure Deadline: All funds must be spent by December 31, 2025.

Any remaining grant funds unspent at this time must be returned to the County. Awardee Final Report: January 31, 2026 Interested and qualified organizations should submit a fully completed application and all required documentation via email . Incomplete applications may be removed from consideration.
