Play Like a Girl Scholarship | Play Like a Girl Apply for the Play Like a Girl Scholarship Scholarship applications are now being accepted for the 2025-26 school year! Applicants of the Play Like a Girl Scholarship Program must be: U.S. Citizens who self identify as female; Current high school seniors with a cumulative 3. 0 or above GPA, or undergraduate or graduate students with a cumulative 3.

0 or above GPA; Planning to enroll or already enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year History Black College or University (HBCU) in the U.S.; Majoring or planning to major in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) related degree program and demonstrates financial need; and, Be willing to consider a paid internship with Play Like a Girl (note: the internship is not required to receive a scholarship, and scholarship recipients are not guaranteed an internship).

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a nonrenewable $5,000 scholarship award . Up to five awards will be granted in 2025. Applicants will be notified on or before July 1, 2025 .

Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Selection of recipients is made by Play Like a Girl staff and its volunteer Scholarship Committee.

All applicants agree to accept the decision as final. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities (including membership in relevant trade organizations or associations), work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and a recommendation.

Additional consideration will be given to first-generation college students and to applicants who self-identify as members of groups that are traditionally underrepresented in STEM careers including individuals with a disability, Active Duty U.S. military and U.S. military Veteran, Spouse or Dependent, including Reserves and National Guard.

As part of your application, you must upload the following documents: A cover letter and resume outlining your record of professional and academic distinction and a list of extracurricular activities including any leadership positions held, as well as any honors, scholarships or awards you have received. A single-spaced, 2-page personal statement of your career and educational goals and aspirations.

A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required. Copy of the first two pages of the most recently filed IRS Form 1040 used for the Financial Information section of the application.

Financial need must be demonstrated in a brief statement for the student to receive an award. Note: If the applicant’s family does not file taxes, please attach a document explaining the circumstances and any unusual personal or family circumstances in detail. As part of your application, one recommendation must be completed and submitted on your behalf.
