org/our-work/outreach---education/pollinator-habitat-education-program) Insect pollinators are essential to healthy food systems and thriving ecosystems, but their populations are in decline - and **schools across the Midwest are doing something about it**!
Sand County Foundation's Pollinator Habitat Education Program gives students **hands-on****experience** growing and planting native wildflowers, restoring critical habitat while **building practical skills**and a genuine connection to the natural world.
We offer two pathways for educators: the Seed Starter Activity, a beginner-friendly entry point for grades K-12, and the Pollinator Habitat Grant, a more in-depth opportunity for high schools ready to design and maintain a larger native habitat site. Applications for Seed Starter Activity will open in September 2026. We will begin accepting applications for the next round of Pollinator Habitat Grants in May 2027.
