Pre-Seed Investment

Pre-Seed Investment is sponsored by Connecticut Innovations (CI). This investment provides funding for early-stage companies in Connecticut to grow, along with mentoring, resources, and connections.

Pre-Seed Fund - Investors in Connecticut Businesses Connecticut Innovations CI invests in businesses that are principally located in Connecticut and are registered with the secretary of state. (You must register prior to receiving our funding.) Snapshot of Common Characteristics CI seeks technology-based companies based in Connecticut or willing to move here.

We look for innovators in our core areas of expertise: bioscience, IT, clean tech, photonics and advanced materials. While we’re flexible when evaluating a potential partner, we also look for: Companies in operation for less than seven years. Non-recurring revenue from non-grant sources of less than $2 million.

At least 50 percent of employees in Connecticut. Companies that can meet a 50 percent match requirement. This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
