The report includes information on the PDG initiative, highlighting 2023 activities, and how the funds granted under section 9212 have been utilized by states to better allocate resources. This opportunity seeks applications for a National Research Center that will focus on improving the effectiveness of federal and state policies promoting the dignity of work, economic self-sufficiency, and stable, married families while reducing reliance on public assistance.
Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) is a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families that funds services to alleviate the causes and conditions of poverty in under-resourced communities. Distributed to states, territories, and tribes, CSBG supports over 1,000 local Community Action Agencies (CAAs) providing housing, nutrition, utility, and transportation assistance, employment and education services, crisis and emergency support, and community asset-building initiatives. More than 9 million individuals are served annually through CSBG-funded programs. Client eligibility is determined by Federal Poverty Guidelines. CSBG State and Tribal Annual Reports are due March 31, 2026. CSBG does not provide direct grants to individuals and charges no application fees.
NCI Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences (CURE) Academic Career Excellence (ACE) Award (K32) is a grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) that funds early postdoctoral fellows from diverse backgrounds, including underrepresented groups, to pursue research training in cancer-related fields. The K32 award supports fellows within 12 months prior to transitioning into, or within the first two years of, a postdoctoral position. The program, operated through NCI's Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD), aims to enhance the pool of qualified diverse cancer researchers. Beginning with the June 12, 2025 due date, the CURE ACE Award is available in both Independent Clinical Trial Required and Independent Clinical Trial Not Allowed versions. Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents at time of award.
