Preventing Outages and Enhancing the Resilience of the Electric Grid Grants | Department of Energy Preventing Outages and Enhancing the Resilience of the Electric Grid Grants The Preventing Outages and Enhancing the Resilience of the Electric Grid Grants program is split between $2. 5 billion in matching grants for industry, also known as the Grid Resilience Utility and Industry Grants, and $2.
3 billion in formula grants for States and Tribes, also known as the Grid Resilience State and Tribal Formula Grant Program.
Grid Resilience Utility and Industry Grants – May include but not limited to: Electric Grid Operators, Electricity Storage Operators, Electricity Generators, Transmission Owners and Operators, Distribution Providers, Fuel Suppliers Grid Resilience State and Tribal Formula Grant Program - Limited to: States, Tribes, and Territories To qualify, grantees must address at least one of the following: Weatherization technologies and equipment Fire-resistant technologies and fire prevention systems Monitoring and control technologies Undergrounding of electrical equipment Relocation of power lines or the reconductoring of power lines with low sag, advanced conductors Vegetation and fuel load management Use or construction of distributed energy resources for enhancing system adaptive capacity during disruptive events, including— microgrids and battery storage subcomponents Adaptive protection technologies Advanced modeling technologies Hardening of power lines, facilities, substations, of other systems Replacement of old overhead conductors and underground cables Biden-Harris Administration Delivers Nearly $474 Million in New Grid Resilience Funding to States and Tribes as Part of Investing in America Agenda Biden-Harris Administration Announces Additional $2 Billion to Protect the Grid Against Growing Threats of Extreme Weather, Expand Transmission Biden-Harris Administration Announces $562 Million for States and Tribes to Strengthen and Modernize America’s Power Grid Biden-Harris Administration Announces Up to $3.
