Applications open online - Link July 31st, 2026 AUGUST 17, 2026 What is the EDA micro-business grant? The EDA Micro-Business Grant Program is a partnership between Prince George County's Economic Development Department and the Economic Development Authority, intended to assist in the growth and expansion of micro-enterprise businesses in Prince George County.
Eligible businesses may apply annually for a grant of up to $25,000, with a 3:1 match expected from the grant recipient. To apply for a grant, submit your completed application and supporting documents to the Prince George County Department of Economic Development & Tourism. You can do this via the online portal.
Include a valid government-issued ID (like a passport or driver’s license). If approved, we will inform you of the following steps, including signing the grant agreement, which must be returned within 30 days.
Business must be for-profit Business may not be a publicly traded company Business may not have more than 25 employees Business must possess a Prince George County business license or be exempt per state code Business must have a physical presence within Prince George County Business owner must submit an EDA acceptable business project plan Marketing and Advertising Expenses Real-Estate Based Transactions Computer Hardware or Software Development of Online or Mobile Presence Final discretion given to the EDA Training and Certifications Other Expenses as Approved by EDA business owners must complete two of the following before receiving a grant: Attend one-on-one counseling sessions through the Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
