Prison Reentry is sponsored by Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation. The Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation supports projects that reduce recidivism and increase the cost savings associated with successful reintegration of formerly incarcerated individuals.

Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation was created in 1986 and began grantmaking in 2000 to better the lives of the people in the Greater Baton Rouge community. Blessed with substantial success, the Wilsons dedicated a meaningful part of their wealth to the Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation.

An intensive, 12-month program focused on strengthening organizational capacity, measurable outcomes, community impact, and operational effectiveness. Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation funds efforts in the areas of human services, healthcare, education and prison reentry that positively impact and strengthen the organizations and institutions that address the underlying causes of our community’s largest challenges.

The Foundation strives to prevent hunger, drugs and societal difficulties throughout communities by funding strategic efforts. The Foundation wants to see everyone succeed. Improving the education system and delivering quality reading and literacy programs is a top priority.

The health of every resident is important to the Foundation. Care and assistance is provided to the working poor and those without insurance. The Foundation understands the challenges that come with prison reentry.

Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation’s mission is to enhance Louisiana’s communities throughout the Greater Baton Rouge area by supporting philanthropic initiatives and programs that improve the lives of its citizens.

The Foundation seeks to support and strengthen organizations working in the areas of human services, healthcare, education and prison reentry that strive to address the underlying causes of social and economic problems. Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation is ready to help philanthropic organizations with the resources needed to improve the lives of those most in need in our communities.

We are prepared to work with you to improve the lives of citizens throughout the Greater Baton Rouge community, so apply today! In the area of Human Services, the Foundation funded a charity with $125,000 for furniture donations. The Foundation’s Healthcare program pledged $30,000 to an organization that provided epilepsy case management.

In the area of Education, $50,000 was given to an organization dedicated to fostering leaders in our state. An organization that promoted relapse prevention for reentries gained $100,000 of support from the Foundation’s Prison Reentry initiative. The Foundation gave $36,000 to an organization determined to improve educational success in juvenile justice facilities.

In the area of Prison Reentry, a total of $273,000 was donated to an organization that supported reentry families. The Foundation’s Healthcare program funded an organization with $25,000 to provide healthcare to underserved children. For Human Services outreach, the Foundation donated $20,000 to an organization that provided legal services to flood victims.
