Technology Grant Program - Cisco Cisco’s Technology Grant Program (TGP) awards our best-in-class technology to qualifying nonprofits. Cisco donates our own technology to qualifying nonprofit organizations to help them realize significant gains in productivity, security, scalability, and cost efficiency. Our program enables partners to make innovative use of networking and communications technology to create a measurable impact.
The Cisco Technology Grant Program focuses on the same social investment areas as our cash grants: Climate Resilience; Cisco Crisis Response (which includes shelter, water, food, and disaster relief); Economic Opportunity; and Education. For larger, more complex requests, use the customized process managed directly by Cisco. For smaller, more routine requests, use the simpler process managed by our partner TechSoup.

Application Path 2: TGP Donations Managed by TechSoup Since 2003, Cisco has partnered with TechSoup to provide smaller and more routine TGP donations in select countries (namely, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, UK, and US).
TechSoup manages the application process and is the point of contact for this program. The process varies depending on whether you are within the United States or outside the United States, where TechSoup works via local affiliates. The OpenAI Foundation's People-First AI Fund provides unrestricted grants to U.S.-based nonprofit and community organizations to strengthen civil society in the age of AI. The fund focuses on three areas: Community Support Services, Community Arts & Cultural Organizations, and Community Journalism & Media. Its inaugural round delivered approximately $40.5 million in unrestricted grants to 208 nonprofits across the United States, with an additional $9.5 million in board-directed grants, for a $50 million total commitment. Grants are unrestricted, allowing recipients to apply funds where they are most needed. Future rounds are anticipated.
The GitLab Foundation's AI for Economic Opportunity Fund, run in partnership with OpenAI, awards demonstration grants to nonprofits using AI to measurably improve income growth and economic mobility for low-income populations worldwide. Selected organizations receive $250,000 in catalytic funding to prototype and demonstrate progress, six months of cohort-based technical support from OpenAI engineers and advisors, API credits, mentorship, and eligibility for scaling grants from partner philanthropies. The latest $4 million round funded 16 U.S.-based nonprofits, with the demonstration phase running February through August 2026 and culminating in a Demo Day at OpenAI's San Francisco headquarters. The foundation has stated that applications for future funding opportunities will open in summer 2026.
