Full-Time Professional Development Fund | NYU Steinhardt Full-Time Professional Development Fund The Professional Development Fund provides quick-turnaround grants to support faculty research, artistic work, and professional activities that serve to advance the school's research mission and enhance the competitiveness of an upcoming proposal (e.g., grant writing, proofreading, graphic design, or coordinating an external review).
It is intended to support faculty in developing funding proposals for external grants or fellowships, rather than presenting completed work . Priority will be given to requests that align with University and school initiatives, and to faculty with limited access to other funds. Awards are intended to support short-term undertakings and must be spent before August 31 of the academic year in which they are awarded.
For consideration, faculty should submit a brief proposal that details the nature of the project, the planned proposal submission, and the relevance to the school's research mission. The proposal should state if the faculty member has received NYU or Steinhardt research support in the previous two years. Faculty members may not receive more than $3,000 in support from the Professional Development Fund in any two-year period.
