It supports clinical trials, experimental medicine, and regulatory studies for novel drugs (small molecules/biologics including antibodies, peptides, gene therapies), repurposed drugs (approved for other diseases), repositioned drugs (drugs in clinical trials for other indications and not yet been approved), and natural products. Funding to $5 million (based on stage/scope); duration (multi-year).

Arkansas Blue & You Foundation Grants DEADLINE: Yearly mid-July The Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation promotes better AR health and awards ~$3 million in grants / yr. to nonprofit or governmental organizations/programs that improve the health of Arkansans. The online application for grants of $5,000 to $150,000 is open January 1 – July 15 annually.

Pew Charitable Trusts Research Funding Pew Research Scholars help expand access to substance abuse treatment, develop new antibiotics, improve electronic health records, make dental care more accessible, and provide better oversight of drugs and other healthcare products.

These explorations include vaccines for measles and polio, insulin for diabetes, antibiotics for infections, medications for high blood pressure, and new strategies to treat/prevent cancer. See guidelines. One submission/institution is allowed.

Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Invites ‘Pioneering Ideas’ Proposals DEADLINE: Brief proposal period opens; applications accepted on a rolling basis This program awards applications for cutting-edge ideas / emerging trends for a Culture of Health — defined as “placing well-being at the center of every aspect of individuals’ lives.

” The program seeks research, pilot, or demonstration projects; idea sourcing; and network/coalition building. Funding of $150,000 – $350,000 for 1-3 yrs. After review of a brief proposal, RWJF may invite applicants to submit a full proposal for consideration.

Sample application NASA-EPSCoR (Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research) NASA EPSCoR objectives are: 1) Develop research infrastructure in EPSCoR jurisdictions of strategic importance to NASA’s mission; 2) Improve capabilities outside the NASA EPSCoR program; 3) Develop partnerships between NASA research, industry, and EPSCoR jurisdictions’ academic institutions; 4) Add to the overall research infrastructure, science/technology capabilities, higher education, and/or jurisdiction’s economic development.

Research Infrastructure Development (RID) awards – Build/strengthen relationships with NASA researchers for 3 yrs (and 1 yr. no-cost extension). Awards are $125,000 per yr.

Announced every 3-5 yrs, per fund availability. Research Awards – Develop high-priority NASA research/technology. Awards up to $750,000 for 3 yrs.

Announced yearly, pending fund availability. International Space Station (ISS) Flight Opportunity Awards – Awards up to $100,000 for 3 yrs. Announced yearly, per fund availability.

Rapid Response Research (R3) – Addresses research important to NASA quickly. EPSCoR and NASA researchers work directly to solve program/mission problems. Awards up to $100,000 for 1 yr.
