Project Celebration is a combination of education and lock-in events conducted by educators, parents and community partners to help keep students safe and alcohol-free throughout the school year and especially during school-related celebrations.
The goal is to reduce the number of injuries and deaths caused by impaired driving, so TxDOT will award mini grants to help school officials, parents and community partners sponsor Project Celebration education activities and events. Project Celebration activities provide students ongoing education on the dangers of impaired driving throughout the school year with concentrated education near the event of concern.
Students are provided access to a safe and chemical-free environment/event where they can celebrate with other classmates and friends during events such as homecoming weekend, before spring break, around prom or near graduation..
