KY RISE - AftercareServices Youth who aged out of foster care are eligible for a variety of services and resources. Project Life Housing Program provides former foster youth between the ages of 18 ½ and 23 years old with 12 months of rental assistance and case management. For more information, or to apply, contact your Regional Independent Living Specialist .
Family Unification Program (FUP) provides former foster youth between the ages of 18-24 with 36 months of rental assistance. Youth must be at risk of homelessness to qualify. The program is only available in select cities.

Financial Assistance Former foster youth between the ages of 18 and 23 may be eligible for financial assistance with things such as: Drivers education and documentation Purchase of work related clothes or supplies College registration and orientation fees Moving expenses, furniture Housing and utility deposits For more information or to apply, contact your Regional Independent Living Specialist .
Youth between the ages of 18 to 26 may be eligible for the Education Training Voucher (ETV) Program. Eligible youth may receive up to $5000 per year to assist with the cost of attending college or completing a vocational training program. Youth receiving the Education Training Voucher are also eligible for additional supports and services to ensure their success.
In order to be eligible for the program, youth must have: Been in state’s custody on their 18th birthday or were adopted from foster care at 16 years of age or older Be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary program and be in good standing For more information, email chafee. ilp@ky. gov .
Youth who aged out of foster care are eligible for Medicaid until their 26th birthday. Youth will need to re-enroll each year to maintain coverage. Youth who do not re-enroll each year may experience a lapse in coverage.
