Promise1000 Youth Fund - Home Join one thousand youth across Canada by doing something meaningful for your community Youth ages 15-30 can apply to join a leadership program and get funding to run their own project What is Promise1000 Youth Fund? Promise1000 Youth Fund launched in July 2023 and helps youth (ages 15-30) across the Greater Toronto Area, and other select regions in Canada, improve their communities.
We inspire, train, and fund youth to implement ideas they have to make a difference in their communities. Our goal is to provide funds to 1,000 youth who 'promise' to make a positive difference in their communities. To date, we have supported over 300 youth-led projects and distributed over $450,000 in funding.
Attend one of our youth leadership camps . You'll get trained in idea development, project planning, budgeting, and more. Camps last 4-5 days, and include small group training and one-on-one coaching.
A link to join a leadership camp is located on the top bar of this page . Apply for funding . Grants range from $50 to $500, but can be more depending on your project.
You'll continue to get one-on-one support as you organize your project. Extra perks when you complete your project . You'll get a reference letter, volunteer hours for your school and résumé, access to scholarships and job opportunities within our organization, a certificate of completion, and more.

Past winners and funding trends for this program
On May 8, 2026, ED and HHS announced the first competitions under a new Family Engagement and School Support Partnership — covering Promise Neighborhoods and Ready to Learn, with applications due August 6. HHS will manage grant funds and provide technical assistance under an Interagency Agreement, the largest structural change to Promise Neighborhoods since its 2010 launch. The priority shift to evidence-based literacy and high-impact tutoring is the visible piece. The administrative reorganization is what determines whether the program survives the next reauthorization.
