Prudential Community Grant is a microgrant program administered by the Prudential Foundation in collaboration with the Community Foundation of New Jersey, supporting local organizations, individuals, and small businesses in Newark neighborhoods. Grants of up to $2,500 are available for individuals, and up to $5,000 for 501(c)(3) organizations or those with a fiscal sponsor.
Projects must create neighborhood-level impact in Newark, and applicants must submit a community resident's Statement of Community Support. Prudential Community Grants | Community Foundation of New Jersey The Prudential Community Grants Program, administered in collaboration with CFNJ, provides local organizations, individuals, and small businesses (including brick and mortar entities) with microgrants to support projects that create vibrancy in their neighborhoods.
These community-based projects have the potential to make neighborhoods more stable and empower residents to make changes they want to see. Local changemakers and leaders often have the solutions to support their neighborhoods, but typically do not have access to financial resources. The application period for the 2026 Prudential Community Grants Program is offically closed.
All completed applications will be reviewed by the committee during March and early April. Applicants will be notified of decisions in mid-April. For questions, contact Program Lead Khalil Nass at communitygrants@theridgelandgroup.
com . Application Criteria & Grant Awards Individuals, organizations, or small businesses can only submit one application (small business owners must apply as an individual). Previous Prudential Community Grants Program awardees are eligible to apply.
However, all other Prudential grantees are ineligible. Individuals, organizations, or businesses must create neighborhood-level impact in the city of Newark. Applicants must be willing to share impact stories as a result of the funding, including photos/videos.
