These community-based projects have the potential to make neighborhoods more stable and empower residents to make changes they want to see. Local changemakers and leaders often have the solutions to support their neighborhoods, but typically do not have access to financial resources. Newark residents, Newark-based organizations, and Newark-based small businesses with an operating budget under $500,000 are welcome to apply.

Application Criteria & Grant Awards Technical Assistance Contact Information Technical Assistance Sessions Individuals, organizations, or small businesses can only submit one application (small business owners must apply as an individual).
Previous Prudential Community Grants Program awardees are eligible to apply. However, all other Prudential grantees are ineligible. Individuals, organizations, or businesses must create neighborhood-level impact in the city of Newark.
Applicants must be willing to share impact stories as a result of the funding, including photos/videos. Applicants must be able to identify how the funding will be utilized. Applications will require a community resident to provide a Statement of Community Support.
Grants up to $2,500 for individuals and up to $5,000 to 501(c)(3) organizations or organizations with a fiscal sponsor will be awarded. Technical Assistance Contact Information Please contact the intermediary organization in the ward in which you reside or the ward in which your program or project is based for details about technical assistance. The Community Grants Program Lead will host a session with each intermediary organization.
