Psi Chi Undergraduate Scholarship

Psi Chi Undergraduate Scholarship is sponsored by Psi Chi, The International Honor Society in Psychology. Provides financial assistance to undergraduate members of Psi Chi pursuing a psychology degree, based on academic excellence and financial need.

The Psi Chi Undergraduate Scholarships help defray the direct educational costs (e.g., tuition, institutional fees, required textbooks) of exceptional Psi Chi undergraduate students. Eight scholarships of $3,000 each are awarded annually for a total of $24,000. All applications are due to the application portal by June 29, 2026, June 28, 2027, and June 26, 2028.

She serves as president of her Psi Chi chapter and works as a graduate assistant in the psychology department. Enrolled in graduate-level courses as an undergraduate, she intends to pursue a master’s or Ph. D.

in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. ##### University of California, Riverside Tiffany is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Psychology with a minor in Business Analytics. She serves as her chapters President, is a research assistant in two labs, and an editor for a research journal.

Tiffany plans on attending graduate school and pursuing a career in the field of Industrial/Organizational Psychology. #### Jennifer Mary Anckner ##### College of Charleston Jenn Anckner is a Psychology major in the Honors College at the College of Charleston, with a minor in Crime, Law, and Society. She formerly served as her chapter’s Psi Chi president.

She plans to pursue a Ph. D. in Clinical Psychology and further apply Forensic Psychology to legal reform and advocacy.

#### Kalem Joseph Kamaluonalani Ringlen ##### University of Hawai’i at Manoa Kalem is a senior at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Education. He has held leadership roles as both President and Vice President of the university’s Psi Chi chapter. Kalem is passionate about serving his Hawai’i community and plans to pursue a career as a school psychologist.

#### Alejandro M. Vargas-Rosario ##### University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez Alejandro M. Vargas-Rosario is an undergraduate psychology and human welfare student at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez.

He served as the 2024-25 President of Psi Chi Chapter at his university. His future aspirations are to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology, specializing in childhood and adolescence. Minal Agrawal is an international student from India majoring in Psychology and Marketing.

She serves as Psi Chi chapter president and holds other leadership positions on campus. She has worked as a research assistant at Wesleyan College and plans to pursue graduate studies in Social Psychology, focusing on culture and politics. ##### Middle Tennessee State University Haley is a senior psychology major with minors in mental health services and sociology.

She served as her chapters vice president and is also involved in an independent research project at her campus. She plans to graduate with her bachelors this fall and pursue a graduate program in Clinical Psychology. ##### Kansas State University Lujan is an international student from Paraguay.

She is majoring in psychology with a minor in Conflict Analysis and Trauma Studies. Lujan serves as Psi Chi chapter’s president, works in two research labs, and is a TA for a psychology class. Lujan aims to pursue a Ph.

D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. ##### Oregon State University Hello, my name is Alina Hyk.

Im a senior honors student at Oregon State University, double majoring in Psychology and Computer Science with minors in Statistics and Mathematics. I’m working extensively on research in AI, exploring human-computer interaction, anthropomorphism of AI systems, and LLM applications for science and education. Riley is a Senior Psychology and Philosophy double major with a minor in Biology.

She serves as her chapter’s Psi Chi president among other leadership positions. Riley has worked as a research assistant at Hastings College and KU Leuven in Belgium and hopes to pursue gut-brain axis research during graduate school. Faith is a senior honors psychology student at Auburn University.

She serves as Psi Chi chapter president, works as a research assistant in several labs, and serves on several other leadership teams on campus. She hopes to pursue a career in clinical neuropsychology, conducting research on neurodegenerative diseases and aging.

#### Manasha Sahana Vengat ##### University of California, San Diego Manasha Sahana Vengat is a senior Business Psychology major with minors in Critical Gender Studies and Marketing. At UCSD, she is the President of their Psi Chi chapter, VP Marketing of College Panhellenic Association, an AOII, an intern at the LGBT Resource Center, and an ELC Lab research assistant.

##### University of Michigan Mai is a Senior at the University of Michigan, serving as Psi Chi chapter events chair. She is majoring in Biopsychology, Cognition & Neuroscience (BCN), and aims to pursue a career in clinical psychology focusing on child development and family dynamics. ##### University of Nebraska - Lincoln Ellie is a junior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, majoring in psychology and minoring in biological sciences.

She currently serves as Psi Chi chapter secretary, works as a research assistant, and is heavily involved in campus leadership. After graduation, Ellie plans to attend graduate school to pursue clinical psychology. ##### University of Victoria Jess is an honours student and Psi Chi chapter president at the University of Victoria.

Having achieved a Bachelor of Arts in sociology, she is pursuing a second degree in psychology with research focused on pediatric neuropsychology. Jess is dedicated to a career caring for children with neurodevelopmental symptoms. ##### Winthrop University Savannah Brown is a Senior Psychology major with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies.

She currently serves as Vice President of our Psi Chi Chapter and previously served as Secretary/Treasurer. She is also on two other executive boards at Winthrop University: Delta Zeta and College Panhellenic Council. #### María Juliana Reyes Rivera ##### Pontificia Universidad Javeriana I am a senior student at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Colombia, majoring in psychology.

Here, I coordinate Evolution, Behavior and Culture research group, and I serve as Psi Chi chapter president. Currently, I am involved in social, clinical, and forensic research, being a “young researcher” with the Science Ministry. ##### Monmouth University Lauren Lentino is a senior majoring in psychology at Monmouth University, where she serves as Vice President of her Psi Chi chapter.

##### Metropolitan State University of Denver Kye Hearn is a senior at MSU Denver studying psychology and sexuality studies. She is hoping to attend graduate school in fall of 2024 with emphasis in religious trauma and wellness. Kye serves as the event coordinator for Psi Chi, and has served as secretary last year.

##### Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania Abigail is a senior at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania majoring in psychology and minoring in disability studies where she serves as Psi Chi chapter president. Abigail is involved in research, leadership, and several student organizations on campus. Abigail plans to attend graduate school studying school psychology.

##### Arizona State University Annie is a senior at Arizona State University majoring in psychology, where she currently serves as Psi Chi chapter president. Annie is especially involved in research and leadership at her institution and plans to pursue a PhD in cognitive science following graduation.

##### Lawrence University Elsa Hammerdahl, originally from New Jersey, will graduate from Lawrence University with a Bachelor of Arts degrees in psychology in June of 2023. She plans to later obtain a Ph. D.

in Cognitive Neuroscience and pursue research on aspects of cognition, particularly attention and executive function, in mental health disorders. ##### University of Victoria Justin Bonnieux is driven by his passion to better understand humanity and contribute to its healthy functioning. Throughout his undergraduate career, he has dedicated himself to advancing psychological research and contributing to community initiatives.

Soon, he intends to continue these efforts as a clinical psychology graduate student. ##### Marywood University Elizabeth is a senior at Marywood University majoring in psychology and minoring in business. She currently serves as Psi Chi chapter president at Marywood, and she is involved in research and numerous student organizations on campus.

Elizabeth plans to attend graduate school to pursue a Ph. D. in industrial organizational psychology.

##### University of California, Santa Cruz Guneet Hora is a senior undergraduate majoring in Psychology and Law at UC Santa Cruz, where she serves as Psi Chi founder and president. Guneet plans on pursuing a PhD in social psychology and JD in criminal law to support the mental health of those disempowered by our justice system.

##### Slippery Rock University Mohamad Khalaifa is a senior at Slippery Rock University majoring in psychology with concentrations in neuroscience & developmental psychology, with minors in statistics & mathematics. Mohamad is heavily involved in research and leadership within his institution. Mohamad’s future plan is to attend a PhD program in clinical psychology.

#### Ansley Brooke Crutchfield ##### University of Indianapolis Ansley is a senior psychology major at the University of Indianapolis, where she serves as their Psi Chi chapter president. Her research interests include social models of disability and university disability accommodation materials. Spending time with her two dogs is her favorite hobby.

##### Western Washington University Linda is a first generation college student at Western Washington University. She immigrated to the U.S. from Peru at the age of five. Linda hopes to become a LICSW.

She hopes to become the first in her family to get her Bachelor's degree and Master's Degree and with it help the Latinx community. ##### Indiana University of Pennsylvania My name is Mackenzie Barr. I'm from Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, and am a senior psychology major at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where I serve as Psi Chi President.

I plan to continue my education by pursuing my masters in a counseling-based program. ##### University of Tennessee, Knoxville Mary Jensen is a senior undergraduate student studying psychology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She currently serves as the Vice President of her campus's Psi Chi chapter.

Mary hopes to continue her education in graduate school studying clinical psychology.. #### Mary Elizabeth Benavidez ##### Adams State University Mary Benavidez is a senior majoring in Clinical Psychology. She is a first generation, non-traditional student who works as a Senior Advisor for Upward Bound.

Currently the Vice-President of ASU’s Psi Chi chapter, Mary will graduate with honors in May 2022 and plans to pursue a M. A. in Counseling.

##### University of La Verne Vanessa is a third year psychology major at the University of La Verne. In her Psi Chi chapter, she has served as Vice President for the 2020 Spring semester and is now the Vice President and Research Chair for the 2020-2021 school year. She is very grateful for this scholarship!

##### North Central College Kasie is a senior at North Central College majoring in psychology and neuroscience. She is also a mother to her 4-year-old son, Nolan. Although being a young mother and a student is challenging, she holds several leadership positions, such as VP of her Psi Chi chapter, obtained valuable research experiences, and will graduate as an honors college scholar.

After graduation, she plans on attending a graduate school that specializes in clinical neuropsychology. ##### Southern New Hampshire University Julia Brau is a senior psychology student at Southern New Hampshire University. She served as both Vice-President of her Psi Chi chapter and President of her campus psychology club.

Her dream is to become a cognitive research scientist so that she can study stress disorders and their impact on cognition. ##### University at Buffalo Cassondra is an undergraduate student at the University at Buffalo where she holds a 4. 0 GPA and is pursuing degrees in psychology and statistics.

She is interested in the cognitive and social effects of depressive disorders and spends much of her time conducting and assisting research investigating this. ##### Marywood University Noah Sirianni is a Clinical Psychology student with a minor in English writing.

He aspires to work as a therapist, either in private practice or in an institutional setting, with interests in severe mental illness, psychological testing, and couples therapy. He favors a psychodynamic therapeutic approach. #### Zayne Dallas Hoyland ##### Colorado State University Zayne is a first generation college student studying Psychology at Colorado State University.

He is also the President of the CSU chapter of Psi Chi. This is his fourth and final year at CSU, and he plans on going to graduate school to pursue his Ed. S.

McNair scholar. #### Aaron Xiong-Jie Zhuo ##### University of British Columbia Aaron is a Psychology Honors student in his final year at the University of British Columbia. Aside from spearheading community involvement with several presidential positions, Aaron is passionate about research intersecting happiness and decision-making in the workplace and intends to pursue a Business PhD to better the lives of others.

##### Saint Xavier University Tiffany Abrams is an undergraduate student at Saint Xavier University (IL). She is double majoring in psychology and criminal justice. She is dedicated to research, academia and getting involved on campus to better her community.

She plans on applying to PhD programs for clinical psychology in the near future. ##### Marshall University ##### Dominican University Elena is a senior at Dominican University majoring in Psychology and serving as Vice President of her chapter. She enjoys working with children and wishes to obtain a Master’s in Social Work.

Her dream is to work with families from low income neighborhoods. Sarah is a senior at Towson University who is pursuing a dual degree in Psychology and Biology. Sarah is interested in obtaining her MD/PhD and working with pediatric patients both clinically and as a medical researcher.

I love the field of psychology and am particularly interested in multicultural and cross-cultural psychology. ##### University of Nebraska at Omaha ##### Dominican University Esmeralda, 20, is a first generation college student from Cicero, IL.

She is currently attending Dominican University, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Spanish Studies. Her dream career would be working with a non-profit organization that helps to empower women, especially women of color. ##### Central Connecticut State University Helena Swanson is a senior at Central Connecticut State University majoring in Psychology and minoring in Gerontology.

She is CCSU's Psi Chi Chapter's President. She hopes to pursue a Ph. D.

in Social, Health, or Community Psychology after graduating with her Bachelor of Arts in May 2019. Taylor Gardner is a senior at Ohio University majoring in Psychology and minoring in Biological Sciences. She is President of the Ohio University chapter of Psi Chi, Editor-in-Chief of The Athena Yearbook, and a mentor to first year psychology students.
