Programmatic & General Resources Plans, Policies & Amendments Corporation for National and Community Service Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) CDBG-DR HURRICANES SALLY AND ZETA Homeownership Down Payment Assistance Program Down Payment Assistance Program EMERGENCY SOLUTIONS GRANT (ESG) Public Notifications/Hearings Requests for Proposals/Applications Voluntary Home Buyout Program Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) CDBG is a flexible program that allows Mobile County to use funds to address a wide range of unique community development needs.
Funds can be used to develop viable communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment and by expanding economic opportunities, principally for low and moderate-income persons.
Funds must meet one of the following national objectives for the program: benefit low- and moderate-income persons, prevention or elimination of slums or blight, or address community development needs having a particular urgency because existing conditions pose a serious and immediate threat to the health or welfare of the community for which other funding is not available.
The County identifies potential projects and programs for funding through an annual competitive application process. Generally, at least two meetings/workshops are held toward the end of the year (November/December) with applications due after the first of the year (January/February).
Information regarding the schedule for these meetings/workshops will be posted at Public Notifications/Hearings and the application packet will be provided at Requests for Proposals/Applications . Funding decisions coincide with the submission of the County’s Annual Plan to HUD at the end of May annually.
