BlueQubit Launches Quantum Flywheel Research Grant Program BlueQubit Launches Quantum Flywheel Research Grant Program BlueQubit has opened applications for its $150,000 Quantum Flywheel grant program, supported by IBM, AWS, and NVIDIA accelerated computing. The three-month program will provide selected research teams with QPU, CPU, and GPU compute access, frontier AI models, and BlueQubit ’s quantum development environment.
The program seeks proposals focused on quantum algorithms, classical simulation of quantum advantage claims, and AI-assisted quantum error-correction research. PRESS RELEASE — BlueQubit announced the open call for its Quantum Flywheel grant program, a $150,000 initiative created with support from IBM, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and NVIDIA accelerated computing.
The three-month program provides research teams with cloud compute credits for QPU, CPU, and GPU resources, along with access to frontier AI models and BlueQubit ’s quantum-native development environment. While frontier AI tools now allow scientists to draft complete experimental pipelines in hours, access to expensive hardware remains a bottleneck to testing and validating these hypotheses.
Quantum Flywheel removes this barrier, enabling accelerated quantum computing research aimed at producing publishable preprints, open-source repositories, and reproducible benchmark data. The program invites proposals designed to address fundamental scientific challenges across three areas.
Teams will develop and test novel quantum algorithms on IBM quantum computers, targeting quantum advantage in simulation, optimization, and other areas where classical methods cannot easily compete. Researchers will also conduct adversarial classical simulation, using tensor networks, Pauli-path methods, and other classical heuristics to stress-test published quantum advantage claims.
Additionally, proposals will explore using frontier AI agents to discover, decode, and evaluate novel quantum error-correction codes aimed at mitigating hardware noise. Selected teams will receive direct access to high-performance classical supercomputing, including NVIDIA GPU instances on AWS and large core CPU machines via BlueQubit ‘s simulation platform.
This platform ensures end-to-end support from code generation to QPU execution on IBM quantum computers. By pairing AI-driven quantum circuit design with real hardware access, researchers can advance fundamental quantum information science and establish open, reproducible benchmarks for the global scientific community.
“AI has demonstrated tremendous success in accelerating research, from machine learning itself to drug discovery,” said Hrant Gharibyan, CEO and Co-founder of BlueQubit . “The time has come to bring the best AI tools to quantum computing.
We are particularly excited about two areas where AI can have an outsized impact: discovering novel quantum algorithms alongside classical heuristic methods to rigorously test for quantum advantage and advancing error correction to pave the way toward fault-tolerant quantum computing. ” The open call for proposals is open for a five-week submission window.
Selected researchers will receive three months of continuous hardware and compute access. To learn more or submit a proposal, visit https://www. bluequbit.
