Quick Support for Artists - Southwest Minnesota Arts Council Quick Support for Artists Provides artists with up to $1,000 for activities such as purchasing supplies, attending classes, and small artist-led community projects. Nancyjane Huehl of Tyler, MN purchased art supplies and materials & tools to frame her own work.
Dates & Deadlines for FY 2027 (July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027) Request staff draft review at least one week before deadline Application Deadline: 1 st of each month, August 2026 – May 2027, or until funds are expended Board Action: 4th Tuesday of the month Results Notification: Within the next few days after the board meeting Earliest Project Start Date: the first day of the following month Estimated Payment Date: 15th of the following month (if contract completed) An application submitted August 10 would be in time for the September 1 deadline.
The SMAC Board would make funding decisions on September 22, the fourth Tuesday. The applicant would be notified within a few days following the board meeting and could start their project October 1. Grant funds would be issued on October 15.
