(PHOTO: KATV) JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (KATV) — The Jacksonville Advertising and Promotion Commission has approved $200,000 in funding for its Rediscover Jacksonville Business Beautification Grant Program in 2026, quadrupling the program’s $50,000 budget from its inaugural year. Beginning Jan.
1, 2026, eligible businesses may apply for grants of up to $10,000 to support exterior beautification and qualifying infrastructure improvements aimed at enhancing tourism. The expanded 2026 program will now include infrastructure projects such as parking lot improvements, sidewalk and accessibility upgrades, drainage enhancements and streetscape amenities.
“The Jacksonville A & P Commission is committed to investing in opportunities that support tourism and quality of life,” said Chairman Roger Sundermeier. Launched in January 2025, the program has awarded grants to 10 businesses, with nine projects completed, city officials said. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until funds are exhausted.
Applicants must meet a 50% matching requirement and complete projects within 12 months.
The city says that the following project categories are eligible: Facade improvements and exterior repairs Landscaping, greenscaping and decorative features Public art installations, including murals Architectural enhancements Lighting for safety and visibility Parking lot resurfacing, striping and lighting Sidewalk or accessibility improvements adjacent to business fronts Stormwater or drainage enhancements tied to customer access Streetscape amenities such as planters, seating, bike racks and pedestrian improvements Shared infrastructure that enhances business visibility and customer experience Operate a business within Jacksonville city limits with a current business license Own the property or provide landlord approval Submit a proposed scope of work, budget, visuals and project timeline Demonstrate ability to meet the 50% matching requirement Complete projects within 12 months of approval Comply with all City codes, ordinances and ADA requirements Maintain improvements for a minimum of five (5) years More information is available HERE .
