Reed and Carolee Walker Fund » Oregon Community Foundation Reed and Carolee Walker Fund Thank you for your interest in the Reed and Carolee Walker Fund. The application window for the 2026 Cycle is now closed. The OCF Walker Fund supports organizations serving people, particularly children, living on low incomes in Jackson County.
In 2026, we are refreshing the OCF Walker Fund based on our historical analysis and community feedback. Our 2026 approach is summarized below. Grant dollars will address inequities, support increased access to resources, and improve lives for all community members.
We know nonprofits are a vital part of our community infrastructure, and they carry out the daily work of enriching, healing, and repairing communities. When the nonprofit infrastructure is healthy, coordinated, and connected, it makes our communities strong and vibrant. STRATEGIC GRANT TRACK – OPEN AND COMPETITIVE Strategic grants provide flexible funding for ongoing, new and emerging community needs.
We have $1 million available for the Strategic grant track. We anticipate distributing approximately 50 awards averaging $20,000 via this grant track, although the award range is $10,000 to $50,000. Note: you may receive a smaller award than requested.
The grant period is one year, from May 2026 through May 2027. We encourage a broad range of organizations to apply annually and to reapply for funding as needed; there is no mandatory sit-out period. No reporting is required.
SUSTAINING GRANT TRACK – INVITATION ONLY The OCF Walker Fund Advisory Committee determines invitees, with the intent of supporting a strong and sustainable community. We have $1 million available for the Sustaining grant track. We anticipate distributing approximately 20 awards averaging $50,000 via this grant track, although the award range is $10,000-$150,000.
Note: you may receive a smaller award than requested. The grant period is one year, from May 2026 through May 2027. Grants are renewable for up to two additional years, for a total of three years’ potential funding.
