-owned and controlled intellectual property. About the Reel Focus BC Fund The Reel Focus BC Fund supports B. C.
filmmakers, production companies, and the creation of made‑in‑B. C. content.
Established by the Province as part of its efforts to strengthen domestic motion picture production, the fund provides targeted support for the development and production of B. C. ‑owned intellectual property.
Through this investment, Creative BC helps local creators advance their projects and build a more resilient, competitive industry rooted in homegrown talent. In 2020, the B. C.
government introduced the Domestic Motion Picture Fund with an initial investment of $2 million as part of its COVID‑19 Action Plan. This was the first dedicated provincial funding for the domestic production phase since 2003, and it was designed to help B. C.
creators restart projects, attract new investment, and secure federal funding. The fund supports both early‑stage development activities and full production, helping creators move ideas from concept to screen.
