Applications for the 2025 grant period are closed . Awards will be announced in early 2026. The Farm Vitality Grant helps Virginia farmers strengthen the long-term health and sustainability of their operations.

These funds support individualized, substantive business consulting and planning services that drive meaningful change. Awards: Up to $25,000 per producer. Track 1: Equipment that supports regenerative systems, diversification, and profitability.

Track 2: Business planning and professional services to advance regenerative practices or improve long-term financial and operational health. Track 3: Product or market expansion that builds farm viability and aligns with regenerative agriculture principles. Applications for the 2025 grant period are now closed. Awards announced in early 2026. In collaboration with the Virginia Soil Health Coalition , AFT’s Healthy Soils Grant encourages producers and partners to pilot impactful ideas that accelerate the adoption of soil health–building systems.

This grant supports innovative approaches that go beyond current standards — filling gaps and addressing barriers not covered by other programs. Awards: Up to $30,000 for a single producer or $50,000 for a group. Focus: On-farm innovation, soil-building practices, and systems transformation that enhance resilience and profitability.
