Regional Civic Health Program Grants | Valley Community Foundation Regional Civic Health Program Grants Program grants support for multi-regional and statewide organizations that provide programming in Greater New Haven.
Regional Civic Health Program Grants Regional Civic Health Program Grants Available only to organizations based outside of the 20-town region served by The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven and the Valley Community Foundation. The mission of eligible organizations must focus on civic health, including advocacy, community organizing, civic engagement, and journalism.
Organizations working in other issue areas will not be considered. Programming support is defined as a grant made for a new or existing specific segment of an organization’s work that services one or more towns in the Community Foundations’ One-year and multi-year grants Grants are available for terms of one, two or three years.
Applicants must serve people within the Community Foundation twenty-town region and meet The Foundation's minimum eligibility requirements . Organizations with a current Responsive grant that ends later than Dec. 31, 2026 may not apply.
To be eligible for a program grant, organizations must also meet the following criteria: Mission focused on advocacy, community organizing, civic engagement, At least 15% of the population served must reside in the 20-town region served by A minimum of two years continuous active programming under a 501c3 designation or a fiscal sponsor. An operating budget of $250,000 or more.
Applicants with a fiscal sponsor must have an independent local advisory board or Applicants who have received a grant from either The Community Foundation or the Valley Community Foundation in the previous four years must be up to date with all Applicants have not also applied for a Small Grant from The Community Foundation in 2026.
