Activities toward this purpose can include initiatives and projects that have already been invested in and/or implemented, including Smart-home Showcases, Lending Libraries, and other technology-focused endeavors that can be leveraged to increase capacity and outcomes. Regional Technology Hubs that have not yet been implemented can also be included.
Supporting communities in creating partnerships, networks, and collaborations locally is also a main purpose of this grant opportunity. Examples of activities/events/collaborations that can occur at these already established, or yet to be created, Regional Tech Hubs include:.
• Lending Libraries, • Assistive Technology consultant activities and services, • Examples of what Remote Support work looks and feels like (including live demonstrations and trainings), • Partnerships and events with technology companies and entrepreneurs to develop innovative technology solutions for people with developmental disabilities, and/or • Homebases for regional Tech Ambassadors who consult with county boards, schools, providers, families, and self-advocacy groups, and partners in the technology industry.
In essence, Regional Technology Hubs can be used for supportive-tech-related events and trainings, education about technology use, meetings with vendors, family events, and to support people and their families and other supporters to access technology that can support them in meaningful ways yet to be explored.
As well, Regional Technology Hubs can be central locations for innovation and partnerships with the tech industry within the region such as an Apple Store, Genius Bar, Geek Squad, or other business focused on supportive technology. More Informationhttps://dodd. ohio.
gov/about-us/grant-opportunities Estimated Funding$500,000. 00 Financial Details• Funding Source: This grant is funded with state dollars. • Funding Methodology: DODD expects to award up to $500,000 ($250,000 in SFY24 and $250,000 in SFY25) across up to 5 grants on a two-year grant cycle.
Proposals will be evaluated on a 0-5 scale in accordance with the scoring section of this RFP. The highest scoring proposals will be awarded first. Proposals with a score below 3 shall not receive an award.
• Project Period: December 1, 2023 – June 30, 2025 • Payment: Grant payments are made when deliverables and activities are completed and sufficiently demonstrated in submitted support documentation. ### Documents to be Submitted with Application _When applicable, instructions or templates will be provided in the Attachments section above.
