Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) Program | ACL Administration for Community Living Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) Program Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) Program Results-Oriented Highlights Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) programs conduct coordinated, integrated, and advanced programs of research, training, and information dissemination in topical areas that are specified by NIDILRR.
RRTCs conduct research to improve rehabilitation methodology and service delivery systems; improve health and functioning; and promote employment, independent living, family support, and economic and social self-sufficiency for individuals with disabilities.
They also provide training (including graduate, pre-service, and in-service training) to assist rehabilitation personnel to more effectively provide rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities. RRTCs serve as centers of national excellence in rehabilitation research for providers and for individuals with disabilities and their representatives . Awards are normally made for a five-year period.
Eligible applicants are states; public or private agencies, including for-profit agencies; public or private organizations, including for-profit organizations; and institutions of higher education; and Indian Tribes and Tribal organizations. This program provides advanced research training and experience to individuals with doctorates or similar advanced degrees. NCI Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences (CURE) Academic Career Excellence (ACE) Award (K32) is a grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) that funds early postdoctoral fellows from diverse backgrounds, including underrepresented groups, to pursue research training in cancer-related fields. The K32 award supports fellows within 12 months prior to transitioning into, or within the first two years of, a postdoctoral position. The program, operated through NCI's Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD), aims to enhance the pool of qualified diverse cancer researchers. Beginning with the June 12, 2025 due date, the CURE ACE Award is available in both Independent Clinical Trial Required and Independent Clinical Trial Not Allowed versions. Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents at time of award.
