Quintero, Secretary Office of Firearm Violence Prevention (OFVP) FY22 Reimagine Public Safety Act (RPSA) Violence Prevention Services Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) Information Summary The Reimagine Public Safety Act (RPSA) calls for a comprehensive approach to reducing firearm violence through targeted community investments.

This notice reviews the first of three NOFOs that will be released to solicit proposals for serving the eligible areas in the City of Chicago.

The Illinois Office of Firearm Violence Prevention (OFVP), housed at the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS), intends to fund two to six organizations to provide violence prevention services within each of the eligible service areas to provide firearm violence prevention services, inclusive of street outreach, case management, and victim support services. Please see list of the currently eligible service areas.

Award and Funding Information OFVP intends to fund two to six organizations to provide violence prevention services in each eligible service area in the City of Chicago. Grant awards will cover a 27-month project period, (April 2022 to June 2024.) Individual total awards for the 27-month period are projected to approximately $675,000 which is equivalent to $300,000 per 12-month period.

The FY22 grant period will begin upon execution of the grant and will continue through 6/30/2022. with renewal opportunities for subsequent fiscal years. The grant application is due to IDHS no later than 12pm Wednesday, 3/9/22.

Engage and support individuals/neighborhoods in the eligible communities Provide comprehensive evidence-based services, inclusive of: Providers can offer these services directly or may subcontract with a partner organization they identify in their application.

* Work with community residents, stakeholders, and others to identify causes of recurring community violence and build relationships with individuals who are most able to reduce and de-escalate conflicts. Eligibility Information and Grant Funding Requirements Only proposals from eligible organizations will be reviewed. Eligible organizations must meet the following criteria: MUST be GATA prequalified.
