Repair A Home Program is sponsored by Habitat for Humanity St. Lucie & Okeechobee. This program provides critical home repairs to low-income/fixed-income homeowners in St.

Lucie and Okeechobee Counties to help them continue to live in safe, decent homes.

Lucie/Okeechobee County resident ​ Provide proof of any verifiable income Provide 2 most recent months of all bank statements & prepaid card (complete, including blank pages) Qualify as low-income household Habitat for Humanity St Lucie & Okeechobee provides an opportunity for low-income/fixed-income community homeowners who need critical repairs.

Our programs prove successful because of the dedication of our staff, volunteers, homeowners, sponsors, and community organizations. Homeowners partner with Habitat for Humanity St Lucie & Okeechobee based on income, need, and willingness to help. Habitat volunteers may complete work under the supervision of our skilled construction staff.

We are always looking for critical repair funding. We will determine eligibility, accept applications, and perform initial inspections when funds are available. We believe the critical repair program is a great way to revitalize neighborhoods.

Critical Home Repair addresses repairs where the household members’ health and safety may be at risk. This includes, but is not limited to unsafe roofing, unsafe flooring, air conditioning/heating, electrical and plumbing issues. We offer critical home repairs to homeowners so they can continue to live in safe, decent homes for years to come.

Families are selected based on income, need, and willingness to partner. Loans are provided to homeowners to cover the cost of the work, and repayments are recycled to help serve others in need. A no-interest, no-payment loan will be repaid to Habitat for Humanity of St.

Lucie & Okeechobee when the home is sold, transferred to a new owner, or refinanced. There are no penalties for making early payments. Volunteers & donated materials are used when possible.
