Whether by funding research projects directly, supporting biotech start-ups, collaborating with partners on specialized grants, or enabling conferences and events, SCN funding is powering Canadian regenerative medicine. SCN is now pleased to announce the second of two national research funding competitions planned for SCN’s 2025-2029 funding cycle.

The Round 2 competition officially launches Monday, August 31, 2026, and offers 22-month awards. Incubation Investment Award Stem Cell Network is deploying a new funding opportunity to directly advance Canadian regenerative medicine biotechnology companies. SCN and the Rare Diseases: Models & Mechanisms (RDMM) Network are collaborating in support of the RDMM Catalyst Grant program.
On June 16 2025, SCN was pleased to allocate $13. 5M to support 36 research projects and clinical trials across the country, with 63 partner organizations committing $19. 5M of in kind or cash support.
