Resist Grants is sponsored by Resist. Provides grants to grassroots organizations engaged in social justice work, including labor rights.

Is your organizational budget under $150,0000? Is your work based in the United States and U.S. Territories? Does your organization have 501(c)3 status, federally recognized American Indian tribal government or agency, or are you sponsored by one?

2026 Grant deadlines are listed below Want to Stay in the Know? Sign-up for emails! The 2026 Urgent Action Fund resources organizations with urgent projects or requests that include, but are not limited to, events, direct actions, accessibility, and mutual aid.

Applications will open on the last Monday and close the following Friday of each month until cap has been reached. Projects that reflect escalated resistance, campaigns, events, projects or programmatic work will be prioritized. First application will open April 27 – May 1 Open for new and returning 501c3 or fiscally sponsored organizations with budgets below $150,000 and meet our grantee eligibility criteria.

Organizations that receive Movement Bank 2026 awards are not eligible for Rapid Response Currently not accepting applications The Movement’s Bank Grant Cycle The 2026 Movement’s Bank prioritizes organizations with consistent, active and emerging programming. All organizations must meet existing qualifications. Organizations can be returning or new grantees.

Frequently Asked Questions about Grants: We don’t have 501c3 status, but DO have a fiscal sponsor—can we apply? We don’t have 501c3 status OR a fiscal sponsor, can we apply? No. Although we are finalizing a policy that will allow us to give non-501c3 status groups funding we will make that news available when it is ready.

We received funding in the May Cycle, can we apply for the August cycle as well? This year, we are accepting submissions every month until funds from our “Movement Bank” are depleted. What are your eligibility criteria?

Organization is aware of how their work fits into a greater whole Work reflects a clear understanding of purpose and function within movements for social change Have an intersectional/cross-issue analysis.

Work actively against white and Christian supremacy, capitalism, gender, and sexual oppression, and all forms of patriarchy Are led by those most affected by structural oppression We do not fund the following: Social service or research projects Legal defense costs or lawsuit projects not directly connected to a progressive organizing campaign Projects whose primary work is outside the United States Organizations with access to traditional sources of funding Capital campaigns, capital projects, or endowments Other foundations or grant-giving organizations Organizations with annual budgets over $150,000 Can I apply for a grant for an event or a specific program/strategy/campaign?

No, unless it’s specifically tied to accessibility. You are welcome to use General Support funds however you wish, but applications should show the zoom out of the work you do. This is evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

We’re a new applicant—are we eligible to apply for the multi-year grant? No. Multi-year grants are only available to organizations that have received funding twice in the last five years with at least one fully-funded grant. We have received a Resist grant before – are we eligible to apply for the multi-year grant?

Opens April 3rd, 2025 (and subsequently on the first Monday of each month). Applications will be considered on a first come first serve basis by our grantmaking panel each month until our bank is empty. The deadline for monthly submission is the last Friday of every month at midnight EST.

Decisions are announced within a week of monthly closing. How many times can we apply for a Rapid Response grant? As often as needed but if you apply many times in a short amount of time, staff will ask you to apply for the grant cycle instead.

When are we getting our check? E-checks take about 3–7 business days. Please allow 10–14 business days for paper checks.

What is an e-check? Will my bank accept it? An e-check functions like a regular check.

Just print it out and cash it like you would any other check. Who do we send our report to? Resist does not require a report.
