Responsible synthetic data for medical applications # Responsible synthetic data for medical applications Artificial Intelligence (AI) can improve healthcare, but it requires large amounts of high-quality and representative data. Because medical data is difficult to share due to privacy regulations, this project explores how synthetic (artificially generated) medical images can be used safely and reliably.
Since AI systems are also prone to bias, the project also investigates how synthetic data can help reduce these biases. Together with three hospitals, a method is being developed to assess whether such data is suitable for research, education, and AI applications.
