We do not accept late applications for any reason . Applications will be under review from now through October. During the review period, you will not be able to see your application in the system.

At our 2025 grantee reception, award winners gathered to celebrate. The Responsive Grant Program at the CFNRV is an annual grant program intended to respond to ongoing or emergent community needs as recognized by the area nonprofits serving those needs directly. This program provides up to $5,000 in operating support so grantees have the flexibility to put grant dollars where they are needed most.
Please read the Grant Guidelines and Frequently Asked Questions carefully before applying and be sure to review the financial documents that must be uploaded to your application. See more information in the guidelines and review sample statements below. Amount Available & How Funds Can Be Used Up to $5,000 per organization.
Funds can be used at the grantee organization’s discretion. Who is Eligible to Apply? Organizations serving one of more of the following: the counties of Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski, and Wythe, and the City of Radford.
Organizations classified as a 501c(3) tax-exempt organization by the IRS. You will need your 501c3 letter for this application. If your organization does not have a copy of the letter, you can request one by following the steps on the IRS website here .
Units of Local Government such as libraries, volunteer rescue squads or fire departments that regularly receive contributions from the public to support their work are eligible.
Units that are traditionally funded by tax dollars or otherwise fall under the locality’s core services such as, but not limited to, public information, emergency management, parks & recreation, planning, public works, public safety, and 911/emergency communications should not apply. If you are unsure whether your unit of local government is eligible, please contact us at cfnrv@cfnrv. org before beginning your application.
Civic or membership organizations that are 501c3 may only apply for programs they run themselves (such as a school supply or clothing drive) and may not apply for funds to redistribute to other agencies. Religious institutions may apply for support for community outreach efforts only. We do not support programs that proselytize or that require clients to engage in religious instruction or activities to receive services.

Actual Financial Statement – This sample provides a comparison to budget for the current fiscal year (2026) for an organization with a fiscal year of January-December, with information provided through the most recent month available (May 2026). This organization would also upload this report for the previous fiscal year (2025).
Sample Profit & Loss Financial Statement Current Fiscal Year – P&L statements typically include a comparison to the same period from the previous year. This example is a statement for the current year (2026) for an organization with a January-December fiscal year. Since it is part way through 2026, the period for comparison is January-April.
This organization would also provide a financial statement for the entire, previous fiscal year (all of 2025). See the sample below. Sample Profit & Loss Financial Statement Previous Fiscal Year – Following the example above of an organization with a January-December fiscal year, this sample shows the previous year (2025) financial statement, which provides a full 12-months of data and compares it to 2024.
