Empire Health Foundation is a new health conversion private foundation, with approximately $160 million in assets under management and stewardship of which $50 million is set aside for philanthropy, working to improve the health of communities in eastern Washington.
Because it is the largest private health foundation in the region, it has given the organization a unique opportunity to build a philanthropic organization from the ground up, design and implement a strategic vision for impact, and establish the Foundation as a catalyst and convener in the region.
The Foundation will invest in ideas and organizations that improve access, health education, wellness, research and public policy to result in a measurably healthier region. </p> <p>There are three types of grant programs offered through this foundation;</p> <p>Strategic Program: This program aims to create long-term, measurable, sustainable change in the health of our seven-county region.
The key themes running through all the strategic priorities include tackling any issue with a multi-faceted, community-based approach. The initiatives may last three to seven years with continual evaluation and measurement of success. Empire Health Foundation's first two strategic issue areas are: </p> <li>Obesity Prevention, and </li> <li>Mental Health.
