If a caller provides the first 4 to 5 digits of your card number, this does establish credibility that they are from your financial institution. These digits identify the card issuer and are not unique to your account. Fraudsters often use this information to appear legitimate and gain your trust.
If you receive an unexpected call, do not share personal or account information. Instead, contact us directly using a trusted phone number. We will never be defensive if you are suspicious.
