Ride United | United Way of the Mohawk Valley Transportation is vital to helping our community rise. The Ride United Transportation Access (RUTA) Program, operated by United Way of the Mohawk Valley in partnership with Lyft Transportation, provides essential ride services to low-income individuals and families across Oneida and Herkimer counties.
This program covers transportation for a wide range of critical needs, including health/medical/mental health/substance abuse services, essential services, legal services, employment services, childcare services, education services, and housing services. United Way of the Mohawk Valley is committed to breaking transportation barriers and empowering individuals and families to access the opportunities and services they need to thrive.
We have very limited monthly passes available, distributed on a first-come, first-served basis . Each household is eligible for 4 one-way passes per month (equal to 2 round-trip rides), depending on availability . Temporary Use: The Ride United program is a short-term solution to help fill transportation gaps until clients establish a sustainable, independent means of transportation.
Lyft Passes: Available for clients with a smartphone and a credit/debit card to download the Lyft app. Each pass provides a $26 one-way credit. Clients are responsible for any remaining balance of the ride.

Failure to comply may result in loss of access to Ride United Services. *Disclaimer: 211 and Ride United are separate programs. 211 provides information and referral services to connect individuals with local resources, while Ride United is a transportation assistance initiative.
