Small Business Enterprise Program Authorities, Boards and Commissions City Charter, Ordinances, and Executive Orders Route 66 Facade Matching Grant To advocate for heritage tourism and historic preservation along Tulsa’s historic Route 66, the Tulsa Route 66 Commission and the City of Tulsa encourage commercial, industrial or mixed-use property owners and business owners along the Route 66 alignments in the city limits of Tulsa to apply for a Façade Matching Grant.
The Route 66 Façade Matching Grant Program has been established to help with restoration of historic buildings along the Mother Road. Goals for this program are preservation and rehabilitation of historically significant structures that were constructed prior to or between 1926 and 1980 along Tulsa’s recognized Route 66 alignments. This effort will result in a lasting community benefit of accurately restored architectural features.
The grant application will identify how the structure will be restored to its original historic design. Grants awarded through this program will be between $10,000 and $40,000. The applicant must provide not less than 50 percent of the eligible cost of the improvements.
The City’s matching contribution will be 50 percent of the applicant’s eligible improvement costs within the range of $10,000 to $40,000. The Tulsa Planning Office will assist the Route 66 Commission’s efforts in the overall grant process. The Planning Office encourages potential applicants to review each of the grant program documents before submitting application materials.
