Rural Business Investment Program (RBIP) is sponsored by U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The RBIP provides a Rural Business Investment Company (RBIC) license to newly formed developmental capital organizations. The goal is to meet the equity capital investment needs in rural communities by enabling licensed funds to raise capital from Farm Credit System banks and associations.
A minimum of 75% of funds must be invested in rural areas.
